MUVJBL Under 16 Girls weekend preview: Round 4

A HUGE Friday night of action will see teams try to break away in the Ashe Pool, while the Watson Pool has started to take shape with some teams beginning to cement their spot near the top of the table in the Melbourne United Victorian Junior Basketball League (MUVJBL) Under 16 Girls championship division. The matches of the round include a battle between third and sixth in the Watson Pool, and a bottom two clash between Sunbury Jets and Waverley Falcons in the Ashe Pool.

Ashe Pool:

Kilsyth Cobras (6th, 1-2) vs. Keilor Thunder (3rd, 2-1)
Ringwood Hawks (8th, 1-2) vs. Ballarat Rush (4th, 2-1)
Hawthorn Magic (7th, 1-2) vs. Diamond Valley Eagles (2nd, 2-1)
Sunbury Jets (10th, 0-3) vs. Waverley Falcons (9th, 1-2)
Dandenong Rangers (1st, 3-0) vs. Bellarine Storm (5th, 2-1)

In the most even pool of the grade, every single match sees the two opponents separated by just one win. The top four face off against the fifth to eighth, while last placed Sunbury Jets search for their first win of the season against bottom two side, Waverley Falcons. Dandenong Rangers remain the only undefeated side, and face fifth placed Bellarine Storm in the Round 4 match, while second placed Diamond Valley travel to Hawthorn to take on the Magic. Third placed Keilor Thunder hit the road to meet Kilsyth Cobras, while Ballarat Rush make the trek to face Ringwood Hawks.

Watson Pool:

Knox Raiders (1st, 3-0) vs. Altona Gators (9th, 0-3)
Bendigo Braves (6th, 2-1) vs. Sandringham Sabres (3rd, 2-1)
Bulleen Boomers (2nd, 3-0) vs. Eltham Wildcats (7th, 1-2)
Frankston Blues (10th, 0-3) vs. Southern Peninsula Sharks (8th, 0-3)
Melbourne Tigers (5th, 2-1) vs. Nunawading Spectres (4th, 2-1)

In the Watson Pool, top-of-the-table Knox Raiders host the winless Altona Gators, while the two sides either side of the Gators, Frankston Blues and Southern Peninsula Sharks face in a bid to secure their first win of the season. In other clashes, sixth placed Bendigo host the Sandringham Sabres, the in-form Melbourne Tigers meet fourth placed Nunawading Spectres, while the undefeated Bulleen Boomers host the seventh placed Eltham Wildcats.
